More tramping!

Hi all!
This time not such a long story, because I am exhausted and it was a bit of a boring week.
During the week I had class, went to the gym for workouts and watched a lot of series in bed. All same old same old. There was not much going on and I needed to get started on some assignments, so it was not too bad to have some more time. Besides, I was pretty exhausted from the weekend before ( yeah waking up at 5 is not really my thing apparently..)
On wednesday we went on a field trip with fruit crop production. We drove around Christchurch a little bit to look at some deserted gardens. This were places where people could no longer live after the earthquakes, so the houses were removed and there are only plants left. We went to take a look at how the plants survive without any care and what remains of the gardens. It was pretty impressive, it felt really weird that people lived there and because of a natural disaster they had to move. After that we went to an organic store, which was a-ma-zing! I just wanted to buy everything there, because they have all these special products and healthy good food. Just loving it!
On thursday it was field trip day, but my field trip was cancelled unfortunately. This did mean that I could go into town with some friends. He needed to get his car to the garage and while we were waiting till it was finished we got lunch and went to the mall. The mall was the Restart mall, which is made out of colorful containers. Pretty funny to walk and look around a little there. They also appear to have the best pizza ever but he really wanted to go to this vegetarian restaurant. So unfortunately I di not try the pizza and I need to go back another time ;) We did go to the Lotus Heart which was a real good vegetarian restaurant. Nice vibe inside and delicious food! I had an almond pattie on a burger with a fresh pressed juice and desserts after. It was amazing!
This weekend I went hiking with two girls (one American and one Indonesian) in Arthur's pass. We did the Casey Saddle-Binser Saddel route and stayed one night in a hut. It started off with a pretty steep climb through the forest and after a while we arrived at flat grasslands. We were just hiking in the middle of the mountains which felt very special. The weather at uni was supposed to be very bad so bareley anyone was going places. Fortunately we went to a place where it was dry both days! It was a bit cloudy but there was still lots to see and it was beautiful. We entered the forest again and descended till we arrived at the hut after seven hours of hiking. We were pretty tired and after making a fire, eating dinner and playing some cards we went to sleep. It was quite cold though, so I have had better nights but it was okay. Then we left early in the morning for the second part of our trip. It began with walking on the flat grasslands, where we saw lots of birds and had great views on the mountains. After a few hours we went into the forest and started our climb of 600m, first slowly but later it became very steep. We made it though and when we arrived in the snow at the top, it looked like a winter wonderland. Then we started the descend with ended up going almost vertically, which was awesome btw, because we could look out on the Waimak river. So after eight hours we arrived back at the car and went back to uni. We had dinner at the diner and afterwards I had a shower and did laundry. I guess you understand why I am a tiny bit tired right now ;)
