Sorry I was too tired yesterday to write my blog, so I'll do it now. I had a great week but did not sleep much which is really breaking me up right now.
Monday was a really normal day. I had class and took my car to the garage because it died during the weekend trip last week. Then I had class again and went to bodypump and bodybalance. Tuesday I had class from 9-18 which was insanely long. The weather was amazing that day and I was not able to enjoy it for a single moment.. In the evening I met up with some people to plan our trip to Milford before finals. On wednesday I first had class and then had the entire afternoon off. I had lunch with someone and we planned the entire trip with my boyfriend in november together. The only problem is that I want to do way too much so my planning is 36 days long while we only have 32 days. So I need to see what to cut out.. After that I went to bodyattack and I wanted to stay for chiseled too but it was way too hot. So afterwards I went to that friend again and before I knew it was 2 am.. Whoops.. Next morning I had class at 9 again and I was soo tired. I needed to finish an assignment so a friend gave me coffee. And I never drink coffee, so it effected me way too much. I had too much energy, could not concentrate and was shaking. After bodypump I still had energy to run a marathon, so it was not such a good idea.. But we finished the assignment and in the evening there was a kiwi night. So we ate fish and chips and watched the movie Boy. It was fun and afterwards I started to be a little tired. Then I skyped with my boyfriend and got a lot of energy again and then it was late again before I went to sleep. The next morning we had a field trip to a wastewater treatment plant. It was quite interesting and I had the rest of the day off. So I had lunch with a friend, then tanned in the sun the rest of the afternoon and went to zumba. In the evening there was a beer and wine tasting, the last one of the semester.. So that was really good and afterwards I hung out with friends till it was 1am again..
Then at 7 I woke up to go skiing! Yes, I am not kidding, I went skiing. Why is that so special? Because I have never skied before! And it was super awesome! I loved it and I was doing pretty good actually. We went to mt Hutt and bought the first timer package. This meant we had gear hire, a lift pass and two lessons of two hours. After some getting used to how everything works our lesson started. We were on a small slope and learned how to balance and steer and stuff. It was the last weekend of the season and it was so sunny and there were barely any people. Everything was just perfect! Then we had lunch in the sun and went to our second lesson. We were doing so well that we could go up a higher slope. I was very happy with that because the snow down became all mushy and soft and up it was a lot better! We even got a free snowboard show from the people below us in the chairlift ;) I was doing good so went down faster than most of the group which gave me time to go up again. It was so much fun and I definitely hope to do it again! In the evening I di not feel like being alone so I went to some friends again and before I knew it was 1am again.
The next day at 7 my alarm rang for the next daytrip of the weekend! We drove to Mt Grey, where somewhere in the middle of nowhere there was a picnic area and a track. We thought it would be an easy track, because that's what the doc site said. But it was a pretty hard track. We climbed for three hours to the top of the mountain and it was so worth it! What an amazing view! We could see all over the canterbury plains on one side, and all over the southern alps in the other, and to the sea in another again. We were up so high, I felt on the top of the world with the rest of the land so low around us. Then we descended via another track back for two hours. I was exhausted and my legs were not happy with me. But it was suck a beautiful walk! We went back to Lincoln and there was a Halls awrds dinner, so it was a three course dinner at the dining hall. After that I watched a movie with some friends and when to bed quite early.
It really feels like summer here, it has been sunny and warm all week and I love it. Everything starts to flower and New Zealand is just stunning! I am really sad when I think about the fact that my adventure is almost over and I will probably never see the people I met here ever again. But that means I am just gonna enjoy the last few weeks the most I can!
Love you lots!
